#6 LA MÚSICA DEL QUIJOTE

Music in Don Quixote brings together the 33 musical instruments (plus some variants), which Cervantes unconsciously and brilliantly included in the adventures of Don Quixote. These instruments are the most complete catalog of the music of the Golden Age that Spanish antiquity has bequeathed to us and can be grouped into two families, courtiers and popular. Instruments such as the harp, the lute or the vihuela coexist with the rabel, the horn and the tambourine at a time that marks the divorce between cultured and traditional music. The objective of the exhibition is to put the visitor in direct contact with the Golden Age through sound artifacts, many of which are still in use today. In addition, the exhibition has an opening gala in which the most outstanding instruments of the exhibition can be heard live.
